About Faculty of Postgraduate Studies & Research
Faculty of Postgraduate Studies & Research (FPSR) contributes as the visionary strategist for fostering the institute's postgraduate education and research, merging them with the industries to nurture an eco-system for innovation and discovery.
FPSR primarily oversees the Postgraduate Education and Research & Development in the institute. Postgraduate Education is managed by the Board of Studies and Research Activities are managed by the Research Cell.
As the slogan suggests as SLTC Research University, the research milieu is embodied through the activities, and a nourishing research ethos is encompassed in the mission and the vision of the institute.
About Research & Innovation at SLTCAdministration, Development & Services
Research and innovation within the campus are structured under two complementary arms: Services, and Administration & Development, both working in concert to advance the institution's research agenda. The Administration & Development team plays a vital role in shaping a dynamic research ecosystem at the campus, developing the concepts, policies, and strategies that drive research excellence and interdisciplinary innovation, alongside partnership development that strengthens the campus's research capabilities.
Serves as the vital link between FPSR and the broader research community — promoting innovation, organising research events, and managing research funds.
Builds and maintains industry partnerships, securing research projects through these connections and administering them from inception to completion.
Entrusted with translating research findings into tangible outcomes, overseeing intellectual property matters and supporting patent filings.
ORIS also oversees institutional grant management, coordinates the engagement of research assistants, organizes conferences and innovation competitions, and conducts outreach activities for students and staff — while TTO establishes the partnerships and licensing arrangements that carry research beyond the campus and into industry. The Dean of Postgraduate Studies & Research holds overall responsibility for all three offices. Given the Faculty's central position in shaping SLTC's research output and academic standing, its work bears directly on the institution's reputation, both within Sri Lanka and abroad.
