ABOUT OIAG

Established in 2018, the Office of International Affairs and Grants (OIAG) at SLTC was founded with the vision of transforming the university into a world-class institution. As the central unit responsible for streamlining all international partnerships, exchanges, and research collaborations, OIAG is exclusively dedicated to enhancing SLTC's global presence through strategic academic and research initiatives.

OIAG empowers students to embark on global academic journeys through student transfer and mobility programs—allowing them to begin their studies in Sri Lanka and complete their degrees abroad with internationally recognized qualifications. Similarly, staff exchanges and research collaborations are encouraged to foster institutional growth and intellectual diversity. Through these efforts, OIAG advances SLTC's commitment to global engagement, nurturing forward-thinking graduates and elevating the university's international visibility.

02Student Exchange

STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMS

SLTC is proud to offer vibrant student exchange opportunities through strategic partnerships with universities across the globe. These programs allow students to study abroad for a semester or more, gaining academic credits while immersing themselves in diverse cultural and educational environments.

SLTC warmly welcomes international students to our campus in Sri Lanka through exchange opportunities within our undergraduate programs. These experiences enrich our campus community and promote intercultural learning. We are also committed to expanding outbound exchange options for SLTC students by actively seeking new collaborations with international partner institutions. Each exchange experience is designed to be transformative—broadening horizons, building global competence, and shaping future-ready graduates.

03Staff Exchange

STAFF EXCHANGE PROGRAMS

SLTC is committed to fostering academic excellence and global engagement through meaningful staff exchange programs. These initiatives provide SLTC academic and administrative staff with the opportunity to teach, conduct research, or engage in professional development at partner universities around the world.

In parallel, SLTC also welcomes international faculty and staff to contribute to our academic community through short-term teaching assignments, collaborative projects, and training programs on our campus in Sri Lanka. These exchanges not only strengthen institutional partnerships but also promote the exchange of knowledge, teaching practices, and cultural perspectives.

04Study Programmes

International Study Programmes

SLTC offers structured credit transfer and articulation programs in collaboration with recognized international partner universities. These pathways enable students to begin their studies at SLTC and seamlessly transfer to a partner institution abroad to complete their degree, with previously earned credits recognized and applied toward their final qualification.

These programs are designed to provide flexibility, reduce the cost of international education, and offer students the benefit of a globally integrated academic experience. By aligning curricula and academic standards, SLTC ensures a smooth academic transition and promotes internationally recognized qualifications for its students.

INTERNATIONAL GRANTS

SLTC is committed to advancing research and academic excellence through active participation in international grant opportunities. By engaging with global funding bodies—including government agencies, development organizations, and multilateral institutions—SLTC supports innovative projects that drive meaningful impact in education, research, and community development.

The university provides guidance and institutional support for faculty and researchers to apply for competitive international grants, build cross-border partnerships, and lead collaborative initiatives. International Grants

ERASMUS + PROGRAMS

SLTC actively participates in Erasmus+ projects in collaboration with leading international universities and institutions to strengthen its global engagement and drive academic innovation. These projects support a wide range of initiatives, including capacity building in higher education, student and staff mobility, joint curriculum development, and collaborative research. SLTC's Erasmus+ project portfolio includes the following:

Enhancing Governance, Management and Reform in Sri Lankan Universities through Non-Academic Staff Training (ENACT)

Strategic Support for Accreditation of Programs and Internationalization at South Asian Higher Education Institutes (SSAPI)

Developing Inclusive Education for Students with Disabilities in Sri Lankan Universities (Incedu)

Improving Access to Science and Technology Higher Education in Resource-Poor Institutions through an Open Platform for Technology Enabled Active Learning Environment (TEAL2.0)

INDO-LANKA JOINT RESEARCH PROGRAM

The Indo-Sri Lanka Joint Research Programme is a bilateral initiative established to enhance scientific collaboration between India and Sri Lanka. Under the renewed Programme of Cooperation (PoC) in Science and Technology, signed on August 14, 2022, the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of India and the Ministry of Education, Research and Innovation Division of Sri Lanka jointly fund research projects and workshops involving scientists and technologists from both nations.

The programme focuses on key areas such as food technology, plant-based medicines, robotics and automation, renewable energy, waste management, information and communication technology, sustainable agriculture, aerospace engineering, big data analysis, artificial intelligence, and other nationally relevant scientific and technological fields.

Projects are jointly executed by teams from both countries. Notably, SLTC is collaborating with the Department of Bioelectronics and Biosensors at Alagappa University, India, on a project titled "Development of Cost-Effective Portable Chemical Sensors for Seafood Quality Management." This initiative aims to enhance food safety standards and address critical challenges in the seafood industry.

ACU CLIMATE RESILIENCE NETWORK GRANT

Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC), a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, is currently implementing the project titled:

"Establishment of a Sustainable Integrated Solid Waste Management System at SLTC to Sustain an Eco-Campus"

This initiative is supported under the ACU Climate Resilience Network Grant (2025) and is led by Dr. Renuka Ariyawansha. The project represents a significant step toward embedding sustainability within institutional operations by developing a practical, scalable Eco-Campus model rooted in resource circularity and environmental stewardship.

As a higher education institution located in a small island developing country and globally recognized biodiversity hotspot, SLTC acknowledges both the urgency and responsibility of contributing to climate resilience and sustainable development. Through this project, SLTC aims not only to transform its own campus but also to serve as a replicable model for other universities, particularly within the Commonwealth and Global South contexts.
