A Message to the Community

Message from the Chairman

The Board of Directors joins me in sharing this message on the occasion of our first program review.

When we acquired SLTC from Sri Lanka Telecom PLC in 2022, our core purpose was clear: to expand access to higher education in Sri Lanka by offering a high-quality, student-focused alternative to government and overseas universities.

We recognised that a significant number of students were unable to gain admission to the limited number of state universities, and many lacked the financial means to pursue education abroad or through more expensive local options.It was for these students that we committed to building a campus that delivers quality tertiary education at an affordable cost.

We also believed strongly in creating a true university experience—one that nurtures not just academic achievement but also the personal growth and development of each student, enabling them to become productive and responsible citizens. We have always understood that access to higher education doesn’t just transform the life of a student—it can uplift an entire family.

Guided by this foundational intent, our commitment to students rests on three core values: placing students first, upholding compliance and integrity, and building a sustainable organisation for the future.

As we move forward, I wish the academic and administrative teams every success in realising this purpose. Together, we will continue to shape SLTC into a centre of excellence, delivering knowledge, opportunity, and service to our nation.

Finally, I extend my sincere appreciation to all who have contributed to the journey of Sri Lanka Technology Campus—our Founder, Mr. Ranjith Rubasinghe; our staff past and present; those who worked with us along the way; our academic councils; our CEO, Mr. Chandev Abhayaratne, and especially our Vice Chancellor, Professor Chandrika Wijeyaratne, whose leadership has been instrumental in driving us forward.

With your continued dedication, I am confident that SLTC will inspire generations of students to dream boldly, achieve greatly, and contribute meaningfully to society.
