Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC) welcomed a delegation from Lincoln University, New Zealand, on 6 October 2026, to explore opportunities for strengthening academic, research, and institutional collaboration between the two universities.
The delegation comprised Prof. Emma Stewart, Dean of the Faculty of Environment, Society & Design; Ms. Annie Goh, Director of International Recruitment; and Mr. Deep Dominic, International Manager for the Indian Subcontinent. The visit was coordinated with the support of Ms. Monika Chaudhary, Market Manager – Sri Lanka, Education New Zealand Manapou ki te Ao, whose efforts facilitated this valuable engagement.
As part of the visit, Prof. Emma Stewart delivered a guest lecture titled “Last-Chance Tourism: Managing Climate-Sensitive Nature-Based Tourism Destinations.” The session provided an opportunity to explore important perspectives on sustainable tourism, environmental challenges, and the management of destinations vulnerable to climate change.
The official discussions between the two institutions focused on identifying potential avenues for academic and research collaboration and exploring opportunities to establish a mutually beneficial institutional partnership. The engagement also provided a platform to discuss the way forward for re-establishing the previous partnership between SLTC and Lincoln University, which dates back to an earlier institutional collaboration.
SLTC looks forward to building a strong and sustainable relationship with Lincoln University, with potential opportunities for joint research, academic engagement, knowledge exchange, and future collaborative initiatives.
SLTC extends its sincere appreciation to the Lincoln University delegation for their visit and valuable contributions, and to Ms. Monika Chaudhary and Education New Zealand for facilitating this engagement.
