Overview

The BSc (Hons) in Actuarial and Financial Analytics programme is designed to develop graduates with strong quantitative, analytical, financial, and actuarial skills. The programme integrates mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, actuarial science, risk management, programming, and data analytics to prepare students to assess financial risks, support strategic decision-making, and develop solutions for insurance, banking, investment, and financial industries. Students gain practical experience through analytical software, programming, financial modelling, industrial training, and research.

Entry Requirements

  • At least three (03) simple passes (S) in Physical Science stream in one and the same sitting at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination conducted by the Department of Examinations or equivalent qualification.

OR

  • At least Three (03) simple passes (S) for two subjects in Physical Science Stream and Information and Communication Technology as the third subject at the same sitting at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination conducted by the Department of Examinations or equivalent qualification.

Career Pathways

Graduates of the BSc (Hons) in Actuarial and Financial Analytics programme can pursue professional careers in actuarial science, finance, insurance, investment, banking, risk management, and data analytics. The programme provides a strong foundation for professional actuarial examinations offered by internationally recognized actuarial bodies while also preparing graduates for postgraduate studies in Actuarial Science, Financial Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or Risk Management.
