SLTC University proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of its Faculty of Engineering students who secured first place at the National Robotics Competition 2026 held in Colombo.
The winning team presented an autonomous rescue robot designed to assist emergency response teams during natural disasters and hazardous situations. The robot was capable of navigating challenging environments, detecting obstacles, and transmitting real-time data to operators through an advanced monitoring system.
The competition featured participants from leading universities and technical institutions across Sri Lanka, with projects evaluated based on innovation, technical implementation, creativity, and practical impact.
The SLTC University team impressed the judging panel with their innovative engineering approach, teamwork, and real-world application of robotics and Artificial Intelligence technologies.
Speaking about the achievement, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering congratulated the students and highlighted the university’s commitment to encouraging research, innovation, and hands-on technological learning experiences.
The university administration also expressed appreciation to the academic staff and mentors who guided the students throughout the project development process.
This achievement marks another milestone for SLTC University in promoting excellence in engineering education and student innovation on a national level.
