Dear Members of the SLTC Community,
As we step into the month of November, I extend my warm greetings to each of you. This period marks a time of reflection and renewal within our academic calendar; when many of you have just completed your examinations, and our final-year students eagerly await the culmination of their academic journeys and the celebration of graduation. Examinations are an important checkpoint in our academic progression, yet they are not the sole measure of our potential or preparedness for the world beyond. True education goes beyond what is tested within an examination hall and is reflected in how we think, how we solve problems, how we lead, and how we contribute meaningfully to society. As SLTC’s motto “Non scholae sed vitae discimus” reminds us; we learn not for school, but for life.
Let us work together with the collective goal to nurture a community that is innovative, relevant, and globally competitive, while remaining deeply connected to the needs of our nation. As we continue to grow in stature and reputation within Sri Lanka’s higher education landscape, it is imperative that our work reflects quality, creativity, and relevance. I particularly urge our students and staff to channel your talents toward local innovation, product development, and startup creation. These are not just aspirations, but are pathways through which SLTC can lead in transforming ideas into tangible solutions that serve both our communities and industries. The recognition of innovations by our students, staff and the industry, in the month of November, epitomizes our institutional commitment.
Let us use this season to reflect on our learnings, celebrate our achievements, and renew our commitment to excellence in everything we do. Together, let us continue building SLTC into a beacon of inspiration and impact in higher education.
Wishing you all a meaningful and productive month ahead.
Warm regards,
Chandrika N. Wijeyaratne
