Prof. Lasith Yasakethu

Prof. Lasith Yasakethu is attached to the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, Faculty of Engineering, Sri Lanka Technology Campus, and serves as Principal Investigator of the Computational Intelligence and Robotics (CIR) Research Lab (https://cir.sltc.ac.lk). He obtained his BSc Engineering degree with First Class Honours and a perfect GPA from the University of Peradeniya in 2007, receiving the award for best performance in Electronic Communication Engineering. He later received the Overseas Research Scholarship Award to pursue his PhD at the University of Surrey. His professional experience includes positions at Dialog Axiata, Technicolor in France, University of Surrey, Kingston University, SAITM, and University of Peradeniya. His research interests include 3D video communication, Quality of Experience modeling, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Cyber-Security. He has contributed to several European Commission-funded projects under FP6, FP7, Horizon 2020, and Erasmus+ frameworks and is a Senior Member of IEEE with numerous international research publications.
