Dr. Chamod Hettiarachchi, currently holds the position of Senior Lecturer and serves as the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, followed by a PhD in the same field from the same institution. After completing his doctoral studies, Dr. Hettiarachchi continued his academic journey as a postdoctoral fellow at Tongji University in Shanghai, China. He boasts an impressive research portfolio with over 15 indexed journal publications, 20 conference publications, and two pending patents, showcasing his significant contributions to the field. Beyond academia, he lent his expertise as a consultant for the Hazama Ando Corporation during the Bandaranaike International Airport Development project. Currently, he plays an integral role as a team member in the World bank funded “Consulting Services for Value Engineering and Introduction of Climate Resilience Strategies for National and Provincial Roads in Sri Lanka” project.
