The Bachelor of Business Management Hons. The degree in Marketing offered by SLTC has been designed for those who aspire to become professional global marketers and are interested in progressing into a career in strategic marketing management, market research, product development, brand management, integrated marketing communications and retailing.

Marketing is considered the heart and soul of commercial activity. Due to its importance to the world of business, the basic objective of our degree programme is to develop superior marketing professionals, equipped with creativity and up-to-date thinking. This will help our students develop the necessary skills and competencies that will enable them to work in any modern industry. The SLTC marketing management degree focuses on producing top marketing professionals with a flair for creativity.

As a result, BBM Hons in Marketing provides a solid foundation in the discipline and encompasses the subjects of marketing communication planning, strategy, emerging technologies, progressive marketing tools, the latest trends and effective communication skills necessary to successfully market a brand, service, or product. Delivered by a faculty equipped with extensive experience in the local and global industries and academia, this programme is expected to broaden minds and help students develop the right skills and attitudes to succeed as future marketers.

Upon graduation, our students will be qualified to begin their careers as marketers in a multitude of fields including retailing, advertising, branding, consulting, marketing research, and international business. During the third year, SLTC marketing undergraduates undergo a mandatory period of industry training which provides them with valuable exposure to the profession, before their graduation.

General intake

Three (3) Simple passes (S) or above in any stream in one and the same sitting at the GCE A/L (Advanced Level) Examination conducted by the Department of Examinations of Sri Lanka or equivalent qualification.

PROGRAMME CURRICULUM

The Marketing Management degree program at SLTC is a four-year undergraduate program that covers a broad range of topics in the fields of operations management and project management.

The curriculum includes courses in Management Principles, Microeconomics, Industrial Marketing, Digital Marketing and Business Law.

In addition to the below listed modules, the Winning Edge Undergraduate Skill Development Programme of SLTC is offered to the students with the objective of producing multitalented professionals equipped with the necessary skills and competencies on the four skills of communication:
Writing, Speaking, Reading and Listening, in English medium.

The modules are conducted in four
levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum based on the competency level of the students. Completion of this full programme is a mandatory graduation requirement.

course fees

A semester fee of Rs. 237,500 will have to be paid to SLTC for a period of 4 years. (Please Note that a year comprises of 2 Semesters)

Refunds – Admission Fees and Semester Fee
1.1. Students are eligible for a registration fee refund under the following circumstances, and all refunds are processed within the same year.
a) Students who enroll pending results will be entitled to a refund of the course fee if they fail to achieve the minimum requirement of 3 advanced level simple passes. Proof of A/L results will be mandatory for refund eligibility.
1.2. University semester fees are refundable only in the case of a student’s failure in the GCE Advanced Level examination. For all other situations, students are required to pay the semester fees and it is non-refundable.
1.3. If a student is selected for MOHE after the 1st semester, the university will not refund the paid amounts (admission fee & semester fee, etc.) but will allow them to continue their degree as MOHE students.

Invoicing
2.1. Invoices are generated based on the AL results of the student. All GCE Advanced Level results should be verified and confirmed by the registrar department before being sent to the finance department.
2.2. If a student registers with pending results, the fee is initially determined assuming three simple passes (SSS). After the student receives the actual results, the invoice will be adjusted accordingly. Any additional fees paid by the student at that time will be transferred to the next semester fee.
2.3. Students are required to pay semester fees within the specified due date in the invoice. (Any delays will restrict facility access after a five-day grace period)

Discount Schemes – September 2023 Intake
3.1. Students who pay the registration fee (Rs. 27,500) at an exhibition/open day or any other marketing event related to the September 2023 intake will receive a 10% discount on the September 2023 semester fee.
3.2. Applicants who pay the fees for 2 full semesters (1 year) for the September 2023 intake within the due date (+/- 5 working days) will receive a 10% discount on the entire course fee.
3.3. Applicants who pay the fees for 8 full semesters (4 years) for the September 2023 intake within the due date (+/- 5 working days) will receive a 20% discount on the entire course fee.
