Bridging Theory with Practice: SLTC Students Visit Bandaranaike International Airport

Our final-year BBM (Hons) Supply Chain Management students at SLTC had the incredible opportunity to visit Bandaranaike International Airport as part of the Import and Export Management module. This hands-on field visit provided first-hand exposure to both air cargo and passenger operations—two critical components of international aviation that drive global trade, connectivity, and economic development. By observing cargo handling procedures and understanding passenger terminal operations, students were able to effectively bridge classroom theory with real-world logistics and transport management practices. From 4–6 February 2026, the SLTC delegation visited Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) – Chennai Campus, including the VIT Fashion Institute of Technology (VFIT). During this visit, the team engaged with VIT leadership and faculty in productive discussions on collaboration opportunities in creative education, applied research, and industry-integrated learning, aiming to foster innovation and future-ready talent in fashion and design. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the leadership and team at VIT Chennai, including Vice President Dr. G.V. Selvam, Vice Chancellor Dr. V.S.
