SLTC Participates in Career Guidance Session at Seethawaka Divisional Secretariat, Hanwella

SLTC recently took part in a Career Guidance session organized at the Seethawaka Divisional Secretariat Office in Hanwella. The session was aimed at empowering students and school leavers with valuable insights into higher education pathways and emerging career opportunities. SLTC representatives engaged with participants, providing information about the university’s diverse degree programs, industry-relevant curriculum, and unique learning environment. This initiative reflects SLTC’s continued commitment to guiding Sri Lanka’s youth towards informed academic and career decisions.

SLTC, in collaboration with Knowledge Bank Publishers, proudly participated in a Career Guidance Session held at Samudra Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Nugegoda. The session aimed to empower young minds with insights into future academic and career pathways in the field of engineering and technology. Dr. Nicoloy Gurusinghe, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at SLTC’s Faculty of Engineering, conducted an engaging and informative session, sharing valuable knowledge on industry trends, university education, and opportunities in the engineering domain. The event fostered curiosity and motivation among students as they prepare to shape their futures with confidence and clarity.

World Environment Day 2025 – Inspiring Change at Rajasinghe Central College

In celebration of World Environment Day 2025, we proudly hosted an engaging and impactful event at Rajasinghe Central College, Hanwella, centered on the theme of sustainability and environmental stewardship. The day featured interactive awareness sessions and hands-on tree-planting activities that encouraged Students to take meaningful steps toward a greener future. With the generous support of our partners, we cultivated a spirit of environmental responsibility among youth – planting not just trees, but the values of eco-consciousness and community action. Together, we continue to nurture a more sustainable tomorrow, one tree at a time.

Empowering Future Voices: SLTC Partners with the Quantum Century Debate Championship 2025

SLTC proudly partnered as the Platinum Sponsor for the Quantum Century Debate Championship 2025, an inspiring initiative by the Future Lanka Research and Development Foundation aimed at shaping the next generation of thought leaders. The inaugural briefing session was held on 20th June at the Virtusa Auditorium, Orion City, bringing together passionate young minds and distinguished professionals. Representing SLTC, Dr. Lakshitha Pahalagedara, Dean of Faculty of Postgraduate Studies and Research, took the stage as a panelist, offering thought-provoking perspectives on “Mastering Public Speaking & Grooming Future Voices for Impactful Scientific Dialogue.” This collaboration reflects our continued commitment to nurturing confident communicators and critical thinkers equipped to lead conversations in science and innovation.

Spreading Kindness this Poson at SLTC

In celebration of Poson Poya, the Student Interactive Society and Media Unit of SLTC organized a “Dansala” at the university entrance. The event offered food and beverages to the SLTC community and guests. The initiative was a heartfelt tribute to the values of Poson – kindness, unity, and spiritual reflection  and was warmly received by all who took part.

SLTC Wasath Hiru Udanaya 2025 – A Celebration of Culture, Unity & Youth Spirit

SLTC proudly hosted “Wasath Hiru Udanaya 2025” , a vibrant and colorful celebration that brought together our university community in a grand showcase of Sri Lankan traditions, creativity, and youthful energy. Held at the SLTC premises, the event featured traditional rituals, musical performances, dance acts, and cultural showcases that highlighted the rich heritage of our nation. Students, faculty, and guests came together in the spirit of togetherness and celebration, making the event a memorable experience for all. Wasath Hiru Udanaya not only honored the Sinhala and Tamil New Year spirit but also reflected the unity and dynamic culture that thrives within our SLTC community.

SLTC Signs MoU with University of Otago, New Zealand

SLTC Research University is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Otago, New Zealand—marking a significant step forward in strengthening international academic collaboration. This partnership will facilitate academic and administrative staff exchanges, student mobility programs, the development of Credit Articulation Programs, and the mutual sharing of information and materials of academic interest. The collaboration aims to enrich the educational experiences of students and staff from both institutions while expanding global engagement opportunities. The MoU was officially signed by Mr. Chandev Abayarathne, CEO of SLTC, and Professor Jessica Palmer, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, President & Chief Executive Officer – External Engagement at the University of Otago. This partnership reaffirms SLTC’s commitment to building strong, globally connected academic networks that provide transformative opportunities for its students and faculty.

SLTC  proudly took part in the SkillUp Sri Lanka Career Guidance Program, organized in collaboration with the Future Lanka Research and Development Foundation. The event was held at Henegama Central College and aimed to empower students with insights into future career pathways and higher education opportunities. Representing SLTC, Mr. Ramitha Pathirana from the Faculty of Business Management joined the panel of experts, sharing valuable knowledge and guidance with the participating students. The program served as a platform to inspire and inform young minds, aligning with SLTC’s commitment to nurturing future leaders and professionals across Sri Lanka.
