Partnering Today, Leading Tomorrow in HR Excellence 

Yesterday, 29th September 2025, marks a significant milestone for Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC) as we formalize a strategic partnership with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This strategic collaboration aims to elevate Human Resource Management (HRM) education in Sri Lanka by fostering academic excellence, knowledge sharing, and professional development for both students and faculty. The MoU signifies a joint commitment by CIPM and the Faculty of Business Management at SLTC to advance HRM practices nationally and internationally. Key areas of focus include the co-development of academic programmes, mutual recognition of qualifications, shared learning resources, and collaborative research, highlighting the SLTC HRM Undergraduates programme as a central pillar of this partnership. This milestone reinforces our dedication to shaping the future of HR education and practice. The signing was witnessed by the CIPM delegation, led by Dr. Neil Bogahalande – Vice President, alongside Ms. Champika Gurusinghe – Council Member, Mr. U. A. C. Obeysekere – CEO, Ms. Himali Dasanayake – COO, Mr. G. Weerathunge – Director, Professional & Academic Affairs, Mr. Anushka Eranga – Director, Business School, Ms. Wathsala Nadeeshani – Director, Finance, and other members of their management team. Representing SLTC were Professor Chandrika N. Wijeyaratne – Vice Chancellor, Professor Hilary Silva – Dean, Faculty of Business Management, Dr. Lakshitha Pahalagedara – Dean, Faculty of Postgraduate Studies & Research, Dr. Lasith Yasakethu – Former Dean, Faculty of Technology,  Ms. Theja Deepani – Head, Department of Marketing Management, Ms. Tharani Sooriyaarachchi – Head, Department of Accounting and Finance, Mr. Sachin Carlton – Head, Department of Human Resource Management, and Mr. Naveen Fernando – Academic Member, Department of Human Resource Management.

SLTC at Padukka Divisional Youth Sports Festival 2025

SLTC proudly partnered with the Padukka Divisional Federation of Youth Clubs and the National Youth Services Council (NYSC) to support the Padukka Divisional Youth Sports Festival 2025, an event that brought together young athletes from across the region to showcase their talent, teamwork, and passion for sports. Beyond the competition, the festival served as a platform for youth development and empowerment. SLTC’s outreach team was present throughout the event to engage with participating A/L students, providing personalized career guidance, higher education counseling, and insights into emerging career pathways. Students had the opportunity to explore diverse academic programs offered by SLTC and gain clarity about the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their chosen fields. By combining sportsmanship with education and guidance, SLTC continues to empower young people to take confident steps toward a successful future. This collaboration highlights our ongoing commitment to supporting community-driven initiatives that foster both physical and intellectual growth in Sri Lanka’s youth.

Edu Path Program at Ananda College Inspires Future Innovators!

The Faculty of Engineering and Technology of SLTC joined hands with Vega Innovations to deliver an inspiring knowledge-sharing session for the students of Ananda College today under the theme “Microchip Design and Energy Storage for Electric Vehicles.” The first session was led by Dr. Nicoloy Gurusinghe, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at SLTC, supported by lecturers from the Faculty of Technology and Engineering. This session introduced students to energy storage systems, supercapacitors, and the role of microchips in electric vehicles, bridging classroom learning with real-world engineering applications. The second session was conducted by Vega Innovations, Sri Lanka’s pioneering EV company. Mr. Asith Devinda (Technical Lead – Automotive Electronics) and Mr. Gayan Bandara (Technical Lead – Power Electronics) shared insights on Vega’s journey in EV development, emerging mobility technologies, and career opportunities in the field, leaving students inspired to be a part of the future of sustainable mobility. SLTC thanks Vega Innovations for collaborating on this impactful initiative and encouraging the next generation of engineers to explore opportunities in electric vehicle technology.

From Classroom to Career! Inspiring Young Engineers at St. Joseph’s College, Maradana

SLTC recently hosted an engaging A/L Physics demonstration workshop at St. Joseph’s College, Maradana, specially designed for Maths stream students aspiring to become future engineers. The session was led by Dr. Nicoloy Gurusinghe, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, with support from lecturers of the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Technology. Through hands-on demonstrations and practical experiments, students were able to see physics concepts come alive, sparking their curiosity and strengthening their interest in pursuing engineering careers. This initiative reflects SLTC’s mission to inspire and guide the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.

SLTC Shines at Robotics Arena

We are thrilled to announce that our talented 3rd-year students have secured 2nd place at the Robotics Competition organized by the University of Kelaniya. This remarkable achievement reflects not only the creativity and dedication of our students but also the tireless support and guidance provided by our trainers and academic staff. Empowering Young Minds at St. Thomas Catholic International College, Seeduwa

The SkillUp Career Guidance Program, organized by the Future Lanka Research and Development Foundation, was successfully held today at St. Thomas Catholic International College, Seeduwa. Representing SLTC Research University, Dr. Nicoloy Gurusinghe, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, joined the session as a panelist. Dr. Gurusinghe shared valuable insights into the future of engineering education, technological innovation, and the diverse opportunities available for students pursuing careers in engineering. This initiative aimed to guide students toward identifying their strengths, exploring career possibilities, and preparing for higher education with confidence. SLTC is proud to contribute to shaping the next generation of engineers and innovators through programs like SkillUp.

On 13th September 2025, the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies and Research at SLTC Research University hosted an exclusive CEO Forum designed to inspire and empower our MBA community. The event featured thought-provoking keynote sessions by two distinguished industry leaders: Mr. Sandeep Holey, Director & Country Head, UltraTech Cement Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. Ms. Dilmini Weragama, Group CEO, Rockland Distilleries (Pvt) Ltd. Through engaging discussions on leadership, strategy, and innovation, the forum offered our students valuable real-world perspectives, bridging academia with industry excellence. This unique platform further enriched their MBA learning journey, preparing them to become the next generation of leaders.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our third-year BBM (Hons) Supply Chain Management students at SLTC recently had the privilege of visiting Advantis – 3PL as part of their Inventory & Warehouse Management module. During the visit, students explored the complete cycle of modern logistics — from inbound handling, storage, and order picking to packing and dispatching. They also gained first-hand exposure to technology-driven warehouse solutions, while learning about industry best practices in health, safety, and sustainability. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Kasun Chathuranga, Mr. Supun Rathnayaka, and the Advantis – 3PL team for facilitating such a meaningful industry engagement. At SLTC, we take pride in empowering our students to bridge theory with practice, equipping them with the skills and insights necessary to thrive in the dynamic field of supply chain management.
