The TEAL 2.0 Fourth Collaboration and Joint Development Workshop took place from the 3rd to the 5th of April 2023 at the AIT Conference Center in Thailand. The workshop brought together members from University of Peradeniya, Asian Institute of Technology – Thailand, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad – India, Vellore Institute of Technology – India, University of Bologna – Italy, University of Stavanger – Norway, University of Moratuwa, Naresuan University – Thailand, Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC), European Center for Quality – Bulgaria, Transilvania University – Romania, RK University – India.
TEAL 2.O focuses on “Improving the access to science and technology higher education in resource-poor institutions through an open platform for technology-enabled active learning environment”. The overall objective of the project is to improve access to high-quality and global-oriented S&T higher education in the Partner Countries through a cloud-based, open-access collaborative teaching & learning platform, and to build institutional capacities for providing high-quality Open and Distance Education (ODE) in S&T areas for a wide and diverse group of learners.
SLTC members who participated in the workshop included Dr. Lasith Yasakethu, Ms. Swapna Premasiri, Mr. Charith Jayanetti, Mr. Niuru Ranaweera and Ms Tharanga Madubashini.
Workshop covered three main topics: Progress and Sustainability, TEAL platform training and sharing, and next-step planning and project management issues. Participants reviewed progress and identified areas for improvement, discussed effective training and use of the platform, and shared insights on managing projects and improving collaboration. Strategies were developed to address challenges and ensure the long-term viability of the TEAL platform.
Overall, the TEAL 2.0 Fourth Collaboration and Joint Development Workshop was a valuable opportunity for SLTC members to come together and share their experiences and insights to build a sustainable and effective TEAL platform.
