The Sustainable Agriculture and Environmental Research Center (SAERC) at Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) is proud to announce the successful initiation of an international knowledge exchange program in collaboration with Professor Lai of Sichuan Agricultural University, China. This partnership, facilitated by Dr. Sangeeth, Center Lead at SAERC, is designed to advance research and training in agriculture, genetics, and plant breeding.
As part of this collaboration, a select group of students from the Agriculture Technology Department, Faculty of Technology, had the unique opportunity to participate in advanced training in plant breeding and genetics at Sichuan Agricultural University from 22nd August to 1st September. This milestone marks the very first time such a program has been implemented, offering students a transformative international learning experience.
During the training, students gained hands-on exposure to cutting-edge techniques and research practices, enhancing their technical skills and broadening their global perspective on agricultural science. Their feedback reflects the exceptional value and impact of this experience.
Importantly, this international training program will be conducted annually, strengthening SLTC’s commitment to global academic collaboration and ensuring that future cohorts continue to benefit from this world-class learning opportunity.
