SLTC Research University was privileged to host Dr. Șerban Nedelcu, Assistant Professor at Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania, for an enriching week of academic engagement and global collaboration. This visit, part of the Erasmus+ Mobility Program, brought together experts from both institutions, strengthening the bonds of international cooperation and promoting knowledge sharing across borders.
Dr. Nedelcu, who brings over 15 years of professional experience in ERP system implementation and a deep expertise in managerial accounting and sustainable finance, led an array of insightful activities throughout the week. From in-depth lectures for students to specialized staff development sessions, his contributions were invaluable in enhancing academic perspectives and fostering innovation in these crucial fields.
The visit began with a warm welcome from SLTC’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Veranja Karunaratne, and key members of the SLTC academic community, including Dr. Deepika Priyadarshani, Prof. Hillary Silva, Dr. Udesh Oruthota, and Dr. Lakshitha Pahalagedara. Dr. Nedelcu’s sessions not only enriched the knowledge of students but also inspired staff and faculty members to adopt new approaches to academic and professional development.
A highlight of the visit was Dr. Nedelcu’s role as the Chief Guest at SLTC’s 7th Convocation Ceremony held on January 13th, 2024, at the prestigious BMICH in Colombo, where he joined in celebrating the remarkable achievements of the graduating class.
This collaboration marks a significant step in SLTC’s global outreach, helping to foster international relationships, innovative education, and the exchange of knowledge that will shape future leaders in academia and industry. We are excited to continue building these international connections under the Erasmus+ initiative.
