The Career Fair held at Kottawa Ananda Vidyalaya served as an engaging platform for students to explore diverse higher education and career pathways. Organized by the Sri Jayewardenepura Zonal Education Office, the event brought together educational institutions, vocational training providers, and industry representatives under one roof. Students had the opportunity to interact with professionals, gather information on academic programmes, and receive career guidance tailored to their interests and aspirations. The fair aimed to bridge the gap between school education and the evolving world of work, helping students make well-informed decisions about their future.

A comprehensive Career Guidance Session was held at the Seethawaka Divisional Secretariat Office, Hanwella, aimed at equipping school leavers and young adults with the knowledge and tools needed to make informed career choices. The session provided valuable insights into various career pathways, higher education options, vocational training opportunities, and the evolving demands of the job market. Through interactive discussions and expert-led presentations, participants were encouraged to explore their strengths and align them with future career goals. This initiative reflects the ongoing efforts of the Seethawaka Divisional Secretariat to support youth development and empower the next generation with practical guidance and awareness for a successful transition into the world of work.

The SkillUp Sri Lanka National Youth Empowerment Programme was successfully conducted at Andiambalama Maha Vidyalaya, reaching out to enthusiastic young minds eager to shape their futures. During the session, students engaged in interactive discussions about emerging career opportunities, the importance of skill development, and strategies for making informed decisions regarding higher education. The programme highlighted new and evolving industries, helping students align their interests with future job markets. Organized by the Future Lanka Research and Development Foundation in partnership with local educational institutions, the SkillUp initiative continues to empower youth across Sri Lanka by providing them with practical knowledge, mentorship, and inspiration to pursue their ambitions.

SkillUp Sri Lanka, conducted in collaboration with the Future Lanka Research and Development Foundation, aims to foster youth empowerment across the island through awareness, mentorship, and access to modern knowledge. The session at Sri Pangnananda National College marked another meaningful step in building a skilled, future-ready generation.

The Faculty of Business Management at SLTC proudly launched its thought provoking conversation series, Coffee with a CFO. This engaging initiative is designed to foster meaningful dialogue between students, academics, and top tier industry professionals in an informal, interactive setting. The inaugural session welcomed Mr. Mahesh Semage, Head of Group Corporate Finance at CBL Group, who shared valuable insights into his career journey, the evolving strategic role of CFOs, and key lessons in corporate financial leadership. The event marked a significant step in strengthening industry-academia collaboration and inspiring the next generation of business leaders at SLTC.

Professor Chandrika Wijeyaratne , Vice Chancellor of SLTC,  addresses recent concerns, confirming that SLTC degrees remain officially recognized and respected by both local and international institutions and employers.

In celebration of Poson Poya, the Student Interactive Society and Media Unit of SLTC organized a “Dansala” at the university entrance. The event offered food and beverages to the SLTC community and guests. The initiative was a heartfelt tribute to the values of Poson – kindness, unity, and spiritual reflection  and was warmly received by all who took part.

SLTC proudly hosted “Wasath Hiru Udanaya 2025” , a vibrant and colorful celebration that brought together our university community in a grand showcase of Sri Lankan traditions, creativity, and youthful energy. Held at the SLTC premises, the event featured traditional rituals, musical performances, dance acts, and cultural showcases that highlighted the rich heritage of our nation. Students, faculty, and guests came together in the spirit of togetherness and celebration, making the event a memorable experience for all. Wasath Hiru Udanaya not only honored the Sinhala and Tamil New Year spirit but also reflected the unity and dynamic culture that thrives within our SLTC community.
