SLTC welcomed 2026 with a vibrant New Year celebration that brought together students, academic staff, and the SLTC community in a spirit of unity and optimism. The event was filled with smiles, meaningful interactions, and a shared sense of excitement for the year ahead. As we step into a new year, the celebration symbolized fresh ambitions, renewed commitments, and the collective journey toward academic excellence and innovation. It marked not just the beginning of a new calendar year, but a continuation of SLTC’s mission to nurture future-ready graduates in an inspiring campus environment. Here’s to new beginnings, shared dreams, and another year of learning, growth, and memorable experiences together at SLTC.

SLTC proudly hosted its Convocation 2025 at the BMICH, Colombo, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of over 750 graduates. The ceremony was conducted in two sessions, honouring graduates from multiple faculties as they stepped forward to embrace their future as professionals and leaders. The convocation commenced with the traditional academic procession, followed by the Lighting of the Lamp of Learning, symbolising wisdom, knowledge, and the enduring pursuit of excellence. Degrees were conferred by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Chandrika N. Wijeyaratne, in the presence of distinguished chief guests, academic staff, parents, and well-wishers. The event was filled with proud moments, heartfelt celebrations, and lasting memories, reflecting SLTC’s commitment to nurturing graduates who are ready to make a meaningful impact on society.

The event marked an exciting beginning for a vibrant and talented cohort as they officially joined the SLTC family. SLTC successfully concluded its nationwide Interest Free Student Loan Scheme (IFSLS) awareness program with a session in Kandy, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education.The session was conducted by Prof. Hilary Silva, the renowned Dean of the Faculty of Business Management, and supported by senior academics including Dr. Migara Karunarathne, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, and Dr. Nicoloy Gurusinghe, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics in the Faculty of Engineering. During the session, students were provided with a detailed understanding of the IFSLS application process and introduced to the wide range of degree programs available at SLTC. The event marked the successful conclusion of the series, empowering A/L students across the island with the knowledge and guidance needed to make informed decisions about their higher education pathways.

SLTC continued its nationwide outreach on the Interest Free Student Loan Scheme (IFSLS) with a session held in Puttalam.The session, conducted by Mr. Mohamed Affkhar, provided students with a practical overview of the IFSLS application process, eligibility criteria, and the advantages of utilizing the scheme. Students also explored the variety of degree programs offered at SLTC under the IFSLS, gaining clarity on which pathways best suit their academic interests and career goals. The session equipped A/L students with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their higher education options.

SLTC expanded its nationwide Interest Free Student Loan Scheme (IFSLS) outreach with a dedicated session in Kataragama.The session was conducted by Mr. Aruna Dayananda, who provided students with a clear and practical understanding of the IFSLS application process, helping them navigate the available financial support and its benefits. Students were also introduced to the wide range of degree programs offered by SLTC through the scheme, allowing them to explore academic pathways aligned with their career goals. The session equipped local A/L students with guidance and clarity to make informed decisions about their higher education journey.
