We are excited to share the success of our recent workshop, “How to Present Yourself as the Ideal Candidate”, designed to help students stand out in the competitive world of job applications and interviews. This impactful session offered practical strategies and insights, empowering participants to approach their career journeys with confidence. Monika Mikulová, Director of the Career Centre at Masaryk University, led the session, providing invaluable advice on building a professional presence that leaves a lasting impression. Her expertise was a game changer, giving participants clear strategies to enhance their resumes, improve their interview skills, and present themselves as ideal candidates in the eyes of potential employers. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Violeta Osochhova for her unwavering support throughout this initiative, and to all the passionate students who engaged actively, asking insightful questions and contributing to the session’s dynamic energy. AURA 2024 marked a spectacular celebration of World Tourism Day at SLTC, held on the 10th and 11th of October. Organized by the 2026 batch from the Department of Travel and Tourism, the event seamlessly blended education, culture, and entertainment, creating an unforgettable experience for all attendees. A highlight of AURA 2024 was the insightful workshops conducted by two esteemed experts in the field, Dr. Chathurika Jayarathne and the renowned travel influencer, Ms. Thamasha Jayasuriya, popularly known as Ms. Traveller. Their sessions provided valuable industry knowledge and inspired participants to explore the vast opportunities within the tourism sector. Adding a unique touch to the celebration, Marvel Sri Lanka led an engaging team-building session, fostering collaboration and leaving participants with lasting memories. On the 29th of September 2024, SLTC hosted a dynamic Pre-Orientation Programme tailored to equip our incoming students with essential skills and knowledge, setting them up for success as they begin their academic journey. The event featured a variety of informative and engaging sessions: Psychology Session with Dr. Dharshan Perera: Students gained valuable insights into mental health and well-being, emphasizing the importance of resilience, stress management, and emotional intelligence. Self-Defence Session with Mr. Kunchana Ranasinghe: This interactive session empowered students with practical self-defense techniques, fostering confidence and personal safety awareness. AI Insights with Dr. Kaneeka Vidanage: An exploration into the world of artificial intelligence, where students learned about the latest advancements and how AI is shaping various industries. Exploring ChatGPT and Data Analytics with Mr. Sampath Thrimavithana and Mr. Dilshan Senaratne: A hands-on session introducing students to the capabilities of ChatGPT and the fundamentals of data analytics, essential skills in today’s tech-driven world. SLTC is proud to support our students as they embark on this exciting new chapter, ensuring they are well-prepared to thrive both academically and personally.
