Dr. Lakshitha Pahalagedara, who is the Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies & Research at SLTC, recently participated in the National Career Guidance Podcast, Episode 6. SLTC and University of Bremen Foster Intellectual Exchange

This visit is part of a staff exchange program under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities, fostering a true exchange of ideas and cultures. As part of the staff exchange program, Prof. Dr. Anna Förster is shared her insights on Sustainable Communication Networks at SLTC. In a significant step towards fostering international academic collaboration, SLTC Research University, and the University of Évora, Portugal, have formalized a strategic partnership. This alliance was cemented through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on February 6, marking a milestone in the universities’ shared commitment to bolster academic ties, foster cooperation, and enhance internationalization efforts. The University of Évora, a public university located in Évora, Portugal, is the second oldest university in the country. Established in 1559, the university has a rich history and a strong commitment to providing an education that combines honest study with long experience. Today, the University of Évora is recognized as one of the most significant and top universities in Portugal. Representing the University of Évora at the MoU signing was Prof. Vitor Beires Nogueira. SLTC was represented by an esteemed delegation including Prof. Veranja Karunaratne (Vice Chancellor), Dr. Udesh Oruthota (Head of Academics), Prof. Anoma Abhayaratne (Head of International Affairs), and faculty Deans. SLTC and TAR UMT Collaborate on Staff Exchange Program

SLTC Research University (SLTC) and Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) have recently concluded a successful staff exchange program, solidifying their partnership in the field of education. This collaboration not only strengthens the bond between the two institutions but also opens up exciting opportunities for student transfer programs, particularly in the field of Engineering. TAR UMT, a renowned institution situated in Malaysia, has consistently ranked among the top universities in the region. Their commitment to excellence in education, research, innovation, and industry collaboration makes TAR UMT an ideal partner for SLTC. SLTC, a leading educational institution in Sri Lanka, offers a range of pathways for aspiring engineers. The Engineering Foundation Program provides a comprehensive one-year curriculum, equipping students with essential knowledge and skills to lay a solid groundwork for their engineering journey. For students who have completed their A/Ls (Advanced Level examinations), SLTC offers flexible transfer pathways. Option 1 allows students to study the first two years of their degree locally at SLTC in Sri Lanka and seamlessly transfer to TAR UMT in Malaysia to complete the remaining two years of their Bachelor's degree. This pathway ensures a holistic educational experience across borders. Option 2 is designed for students who choose the Engineering Foundation Program after O/Ls. They can spend the initial two years of their degree at SLTC and then transition smoothly to TAR UMT for the final two years, gaining exposure to international perspectives and enhancing their employability. The successful staff exchange program between SLTC and TAR UMT marks a significant milestone in their partnership. The whispering wilderness – Udawalawe

The batch of 2026B from the Department of Tourism organized a tour program for the staff of our esteemed SLTC university. The program, named “Whispering Wilderness – Udawalawe”, included a visit to ‘Eth Athuru Sevana’ and a Safari to Udawalawe National Park. The tour was a massive success and an unforgettable journey for everyone who participated in it.

Excitement filled the air as SLTC celebrated its highly anticipated General Convocation 2023 on the 23rd of June at the prestigious Nelum Pokuna. Dressed in their academic robes, a total of 311 graduating students from the esteemed School of Engineering, School of Science, School of Business, and the School of Technology eagerly awaited their turn to receive their well-deserved accolades. The convocation was graced by the presence of a distinguished guest, His Excellency Michael Appleton, the New Zealand High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and Maldives. His inspiring words resonated with the eager minds of the graduating class, encouraging them to embrace innovation, pursue excellence, and make a positive impact in their respective fields. The Founder President/Vice Chancellor of SLTC delivered an address to the students, emphasizing the significance of their actions and endeavors as a testament to the education they have received and the values instilled in them during their time at SLTC. Special awards, medals, and certificates were presented to students who had displayed exemplary dedication and outstanding skills in their chosen disciplines. Each student’s unique specialty was acknowledged, underscoring their exceptional contributions and commitment to their academic pursuits. Adding a symphony of joy to the momentous occasion, the talented musicians from SLTC’s renowned Music School headed by Mr. Nadeeka Guruge, enchanted the audience with a captivating blend of instrumental and vocal performances.
The General Convocation 2023 was not merely a culmination of years of hard work and dedication, it was a celebration of the boundless potential that the future holds for these bright graduates.
