SLTC at X-Ban Educational Exhibition and Carnival

SLTC Research University participated in the X-Ban Educational Exhibition and Carnival, held over five days and organized by the Old Boys’ Association of Gampaha Bandaranayake College. This event provided a valuable opportunity for SLTC to present its wide range of academic programs to students and visitors. SLTC x SkillUp Journey Begins at Mahanama College

SLTC Research University is proud to contribute to the “SkillUp National Youth Empowerment Project,” an initiative led by the Future Lanka Research and Development Foundation in collaboration with the Presidential Office. This important project focuses on empowering Sri Lanka’s youth by enhancing their skills and providing valuable opportunities for personal and professional growth. The first session of this project was held at Mahanama College Colombo, where Ms. Swapna Premasiri, Head of the Software Engineering Department from the Faculty of Computing & IT at SLTC, served as a panelist. Her participation highlights SLTC’s commitment to supporting national efforts to equip young people with essential skills and foster their development through collaborative educational programs.

SLTC Provides Insightful Counseling at Tamil Debater’s Council Debate Workshop

Empowering young minds through the art of debate! SLTC facilitated a Debate Competition and Workshop hosted by the Tamil Debater’s Council at Wijayaratnam Hindu Central College. This event provided students with a valuable opportunity to develop their critical thinking and persuasive speaking skills while engaging in cultural exchange. Factory Tour Enhances SLTC Students’ Strategic Management Learning

Our 4th-year Strategic Management students had an incredible opportunity to organize and participate in a field visit to Lanka Milk Food Company. On July 16, 2024, we toured their factory in Welisara, where students got an up-close look at milk food processing and manufacturing facilities, renowned for their high quality and safety standards. This visit was part of our continuous assessment for the Strategic Management module. Our students gained insights into complex processes and unique business models that go beyond textbook learning. Dr. Ruwanga Amarasingha, Head of the Department of Agriculture in the Faculty of Technology at SLTC, represented the university and shared valuable insights into career opportunities within agriculture and technology. SLTC Research University Joins National Defence College for Insightful Diners’ Club Event

On July 3, 2024, the National Defence College held its third Diners’ Club event, focusing on science and technology for NS&SS Course 3/2024 participants. Senior Professor Veranja Karunaratne, Vice Chancellor of SLTC Research University and Chairman of the National Science and Technology Commission, delivered a keynote on ‘Advanced Technologies and their Applications.’ His insights highlighted the transformative impact of cutting-edge technologies across various industries. The event also featured contributions from Professor Pradeep Kalansuriya of Kotelawala Defence University, Professor Dilushan R. Jayasundara of the University of Colombo, Dr. Nuwan de Silva from the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology, and Mr. Chathura Kotagama, Chief Strategy Officer at SLTC Research University.
