The Faculty of Business Management at SLTC Technology Campus, in collaboration with CMA Sri Lanka, hosted a guest lecture for 2nd-year undergraduates of the Management Accounting module. SLTC Signs MOU with SLIM to Empower Future Marketers

The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and SLTC’s Faculty of Business Management, in collaboration with the Department of Marketing, have entered into a landmark Memorandum of Understanding at the SLTC main premises. This partnership opens doors for students to gain SLIM memberships, scholarships, fast-track certifications, and invaluable industry exposure through SLIM’s extensive network. It also offers professional development opportunities for lecturers, strengthening ties between academia and the business sector. As Sri Lanka’s marketing industry continues to expand, this collaboration aims to equip SLTC students with the skills, experience, and professional connections needed to excel in the competitive marketplace.

Business Management Students Gain Industry Insights in Avissawella

The Department of Accounting and Finance, Faculty of Business Management, recently organized an insightful field visit for second-year undergraduates, aimed at bridging classroom learning with real-world industry practices. Students had the opportunity to explore the manufacturing processes at MAS Kreeda Synergy and Lanka Minerals & Chemicals (Pvt) Ltd, two leading companies based in the Avissawella Industrial Zone. The visit was led by Prof. Hilary Silva, Dean of the Faculty of Business Management, accompanied by faculty lecturers. This initiative not only provided students with hands-on exposure to industry operations but also strengthened SLTC’s partnerships with key industry players, paving the way for future collaborations and learning opportunities.

SkillUp Career Guidance Session at St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa

The SkillUp career guidance session, conducted in collaboration with the Future Lanka Research and Development Foundation, was held at St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa. The session provided students with valuable insights into career options, skill development, and higher education pathways to help them prepare for the future. Ms. Umayangana Alawatte, Lecturer from SLTC’s Center for Communication Skills Development, participated as a panelist, offering expert advice and engaging with students to address their career-related questions. “Reel Reflection” Movie Night – Cinema That Sparks Conversation

Reel Reflection Movie Night brought together students for an evening of thought-provoking storytelling and meaningful conversation. Far beyond entertainment, the event aimed to inspire self-awareness, empathy, and discussion through the powerful medium of film. This was the first event conducted under the Student Wellness Activities, an initiative launched by the Student Wellness Team at SLTC. The session was thoughtfully organized by Ms. Anupama Maddekanda, Lecturer from the Center for Communication and Skill Development, who guided the evening with care and insight. The event was graced by Mr. Upul Jayantha Ranepura, Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Drama, Cinema & Television at the University of Kelaniya, who attended as the Guest of Honor. His presence added depth to the evening, offering valuable perspectives on the power of cinema as a tool for reflection and social connection. Held in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere, the screening was followed by an open reflection session where participants shared perspectives, discussed key themes, and connected the storylines to real-life experiences. Whether it was personal growth, social issues, or emotional journeys, every reel offered something deeper to take home. Reel Reflection is more than just movie night—it’s a space where stories speak, and minds open.
