It was a privilege to host Dr. Veerapandi Ganesan from the Department of Bioelectronics and Biosensors, Alagappa University, India, as part of the Indo-Sri Lanka Joint Project. This significant initiative aims to foster stronger academic and research connections between India and Sri Lanka, advancing innovation through meaningful partnerships.
During his visit, Dr. Ganesan collaborated with SLTC Research University and the University of Peradeniya on the groundbreaking project titled “Development of Cost-Effective Portable Chemical Sensors for Seafood Quality Management.” This project holds immense potential to enhance food safety standards while addressing critical challenges in the seafood industry.
The visit is a milestone in the ongoing collaboration facilitated by the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the State Ministry of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research & Innovation of Sri Lanka and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.
Dr. Migara Karunaratne, the Principal Investigator (PI) representing SLTC, leads this impactful research effort with a vision to revolutionize food safety technologies.
