Environmental Technology

The BTech in Environmental Technology programme aims at preparing graduates to be on the frontline of protecting our environment. The programme is designed as a combined study of the Science, Technology, and Engineering disciplines. Students will gain an in-depth, firm scientific foundation on biological, chemical, and physical mechanisms of the environmental challenges and their monitoring, using scientific and technological interventions for their assessment and management whilst complying with various laws, regulations, and policies.

Throughout the learning process, students will regularly monitor and assess environmental and sustainability issues and problems. They will critically analyse complex problems and recommend effective solutions by collaborating closely with scientists and engineers in academia and the industry. The programme moulds creative and innovative future environmental technologists who will face unforeseen environmental challenges created by factors such as urbanisation, population growth and ecological degradation. The breadth of the programme will provide a strong basis for lifelong multi-disciplinary learning for our graduates.

Students will learn of the role of social sciences, humanities, policy, and governance in the context of environmental problem-solving. Rigorous training in professional communication and presentation skills, leadership and entrepreneurship skills, technical writing and project management methods are also part of this comprehensive curriculum. Students will also receive the opportunity to engage in research and innovation with the faculty and mentor and the opportunity to complete an internship at a renowned organisation in the industry.
