Mr. Udayanga Samarakoon

Mr.Udayanga Samarakoon is a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Mechatronics at Sri Lanka Technology Campus, where he also serves as a Research Assistant at the Computational Intelligence Robotics Research Lab. He earned his B.Sc. in Mechatronics Engineering from SLTC in 2023, graduating with Second Class Upper Division honors. Additionally, he holds a Diploma in Information Technology from INFORTEC International – Institute of Information Technology.

Udayanga has been recognized for both his academic and innovative contributions. He received a Bronze Medal for Outstanding Contribution to University Life at SLTC’s Special Convocation in 2024, a Silver Medal at INTARG 2023 (16th International Invention and Innovation Show) for his groundbreaking bio diesel invention aimed at transforming Sri Lanka’s transportation sector, and a Certificate of Recognition for his efforts to advance biofuel technology, awarded at SLTC’s General Convocation in 2024.

His research interests span Generative AI, Robotics, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI), and Computer Vision. He is particularly focused on integrating intelligent systems with human-centered technologies to drive innovation in interactive and autonomous robotic solutions.

Udayanga is deeply passionate about interdisciplinary innovation. Through his dual roles in research and teaching, he actively contributes to both the academic and scientific communities at SLTC, fostering progress at the intersection of engineering and emerging technologies.
