Ms. Sachithra Yaddehige is a Lecturer in the Department of Biosystems at Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC), where she has been serving since 2018. She began her academic career at SLTC as a Research Assistant and later progressed to her current role, contributing to teaching, laboratory instruction, student supervision, and departmental research activities.
Sachithra has completed her PhD in Veterinary Science and Food Safety at the University of Padova, Italy where she also worked as a Teaching Assistant and a Student Tutor. She obtained her MSc in Biotechnologies for Food Science from the University of Padova as well, and the BSc (Eng) in Biosystems Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. In addition to her role at SLTC, she is involved in ongoing international research collaborations with the University of Padova and the National Research Council (CNR), Italy, strengthening global academic partnerships and advancing collaborative research in bioinformatics and food science. Combining her background in food science with strong programming and bioinformatics skills, Sachithra aims to inspire students to explore research that bridges computation and biological systems, fostering problem solving and innovation.
