Dr. Charitha Dissanayaka

Dr. Charitha  Dissanayaka, is a civil and environmental engineering expert with over a decade of experience in coastal, hydraulic, and water resources engineering. He hold a PhD from Saitama University, Japan and applied advanced numerical modeling tools such as FUNWAVE-TVD, NHWAVE, OpenFOAM, sedInterFOAM, and CFDEM-LIGGGHTS for tsunami and tsunami-induced flow simulations during his research career in Japan. The Research focuses on climate change modeling & adaptation, evaluating the infrastructure resilience under natural disasters, sediment transport modeling, river and coastal engineering, and disaster risk engineering & management. He has contributed to major infrastructure and research projects in both Sri Lanka and Japan, while actively engaging in both academic and industrial sectors. He is particularly interested in integrating technical innovation with advanced numerical modeling and machine learning to promote sustainable, data-driven engineering solutions for future disaster risk mitigation.
