Mr. Buddhi Thailakrathne is currently working as a lecturer attached to the School of Business at SLTC Research University since 2023. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colombo. He received two master’s degrees in the United States: one in statistics from Georgia Southern University and another in industrial engineering from Clemson University. He is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation (CILT). He was offered a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt by Clemson University in the United States. Currently, he is reading for his DBA at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. He has extensive experience in supply chain, logistics, operations, and quality in multiple industries, including FMCG, education, banking, and manufacturing. He has experience in student lecturing, specializing in logistics, supply chain, operations, Six Sigma quality, project management, and statistics full-time, as well as professional participants. Mr. Buddhi Thailakrathne has participated in several international training programs on teaching methodology, curriculum development, and research methodology conducted by well-known international universities such as Clemson University, USA, University Technology Malaysia, and Coventry University, UK. Further, he has conducted many workshops for the public sector as well as the private sector in English and Sinhala in different disciplines. Before he joined SLTC in 2023, Mr. Buddhi Thailakrathne worked as a senior consultant and lecturer attached to the productivity and quality center at the NIBM since 2016. He has taught courses on various management and engineering subjects for certificate, diploma, and degree students. He has also supervised numerous diploma and undergraduate-level dissertations. During his time at NIBM, he has worked as a course director for two-degree programs and one master’s program awarded by Coventry University, UK.
