Mr. Nuwin Perera
Mr. Nuwin Perera serves as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC), where he demonstrates exceptional commitment to both academic excellence and innovative research. As an active member of the Computational Intelligence and Robotics (CIR) Research Group, he contributes to pioneering advancements in robotics while mentoring the next generation of engineers through laboratory sessions and lectures.
Perera distinguished himself academically by earning his Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Mechatronics Engineering from SLTC in 2023, graduating with Second Class Upper Division honors as the batch top performer. His outstanding academic and research accomplishments have earned him several prestigious accolades, including the Gold Medal for Academic Excellence in Mechatronics Engineering (2023), the Silver Medal for Best Contribution to Research and Innovation (2023) for his final year project titled “Assistive Cartesian Healthcare Robot for Forearm Vein Puncturing”, and the IEEE Most Outstanding Paper Award at the 6th International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC 2024), further cementing his position as a rising star in the field of computational engineering.
With a strong interdisciplinary approach, Perera is currently engaged in multiple cutting-edge research projects that span artificial intelligence, brain-computer interfacing, and medical robotics. His current research endeavors include developing innovative solutions for biomedical robots.
